Magnifique!

Perfect gite - We stayed for a week at La Petite Grange during the peak of the recent heatwave. Perhaps the easiest thing to say about the gite if you're wondering about whethger to stay given the excellent pictures and description on their web-site is that it's at least as good as it looks. We stay often at cottages/gites in France for many years and this is exactly what we hope to find. Comfortable, great condition, clean, good showers etc. The pool is one of the better pools we've come across in our stays and the whole places makes for a very relaxing break. Despite 41 degree temperatures at times, the gite itself remained commendably cool providing an escape when returning from outings. Dan and Elaine strike the perfect balance as hosts. We found them responsive and very helpful before we arrived and this continued during our stay. They were around but we never felt a lack of privacy. We ended up talking quite a lot because we're trying to make a move to France oursleves and they were so helpful and generous with their time. If you choose to visit we'd recommend Monpazier for a visit and Prayssac is nice on market day. Watch out for the very expensive nougat however! :-) One of the restaurants they recommend is Le Caillau. We've eaten there before but whilst we didn't get time this visit, I'd recommend a drive past as the road that goes by on the south side of the Lot is full of vineyards and quite different to the main road on the other side of the river.

Barn conversion gite - French rural style, large rooms, peaceful ambience - Dan and Elaine have created a mixture of modernity and tradition in these two rural gites in rolling grass and woodland countryside near Fumel in the Lot et Garonne region of central France. We chose the smaller two bedroom gite and it was comprehensively equipped, thoroughly up to date and spotless inside. The barn conversion retains its original appearance in the landscape. There is a large swimming pool in the garden, a barbecue - even a darts and table tennis room. But this rental is ideal for those who want complete relaxation and is also well placed for those interested in touring the region. Our English hosts were very friendly and eager to help in any way they could - touring suggestions, restaurants and extensive local knowledge. Overall, the experience well exceeded our expectations and our only regret was not having booked for a longer stay! Thoroughly recommended.

Great place to stay for a truly authentic break in France - What a beautiful peaceful place.......we found the gites were finished to a very high standard and had everything you need for a relaxing break. The property is quite remote, which gives it's peaceful appeal, however it was still within a short drive of Fumel and had plenty on site with a games room and swimming pool too. The gites are in an area surrounded by many vineyards, so a tasting cannot be missed on your holiday. The owners were very welcoming and provided a much needed welcome hamper on arrival. Would certainly recommend to anyone who wants a truly authentic break in a rural part of south west France.

Having been on holiday in Aug’17 for the 3rd year in a row we remain impressed with the gite, the area and even more impressed with Dan/Elaine’s very, very warm hospitality. Thanks so much Dan/Elaine. See you again soon. Ewart & Patsy - August 2017 (La Grange)
This is a really gorgeous location, rural and peaceful yet near plenty of places to visit. We have just booked our flights for a return visit! Lots to do, eat, see... too much for a single holiday. Not least of all, Dan and Elaine, both friendly hosts. They have created really stylish and comfortable gites, with lovely welcome packs and very high spec. fittings. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful, fully equipped, tastefully converted.
Great location, plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. Dan and Elaine were perfect hosts. Pool area fabulous. We all loved the 2 friendly dogs. We would definitely like to return.

Elaine and Dan were excellent hosts from start to finish. Both were welcoming, hospitable and good fun too! Their knowledge and experience of the local area was also great to have. The property was beautifully presented and tastefully decorated & furnished. The mix of modern convenience and original rustic charm was excellent. The thoughtfulness of the provisions already in the property upon our arrival was greatly appreciated and particularly useful for guests, like us, who may be arriving later in the day without provisions of their own. The beds were very comfortable and the property boasts quality fixtures and fittings with every need catered for. The grounds were well maintained and a pleasure to return to and sit in, following a day of exploring the nearby attractions. The pool was ideal and both decking area also provided a comfortable seating location for the evening sun. The location offers a range of attractions all within easy travel by car and a number of supermarkets in nearby Fumel. An obvious family destination, the property and area is also ideal for couples. All in all, a great trip made by our accommodation and our hosts.

We stayed in La Petite Grange with our two small children (2.5 yrs and 10 mths) for a week in June and had a wonderful holiday. The gite was beautifully appointed and perfectly equipped for small children. There is plenty to see and do in the area, we only scratched the surface partly because of the kids but also because of the pull of the pool and the beautiful setting of the gite. It's incredibly peaceful and relaxing, and the children loved the pool, which is also extremely well equipped with inflatable toys. From the moment we arrived we didn't have any concerns over our children's safety. The pool is accessed from the gite through a gate, and has an alarm. There is also a gate to access the road. It's a very safe environment for children and Dan and Elaine have clearly put a lot of thought into making sure families can relax and enjoy their time away. The herb garden is a lovely touch, and Dan and Elaine were wonderful hosts, giving us lots of sightseeing tips and even running routes. Next time we will bring the bikes! Our toddler told us he preferred our holiday home to our normal home and I have to say I can understand why! Thanks Dan and Elaine for a lovely week.

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at this lovely and peaceful gite. Dan and Elaine were great hosts and gave us lots of tips for things to do in this beautiful part of France. The gite is really nicely appointed and in a good location for exploring the local area by car. The pool is fantastic and great for little ones in the heat. We look forward to coming back.

We visited in October. Driving through the beautiful medieval villages nestled in the hilly terrain, and surrounded by the burning red and orange hues of the vineyards in the golden autumnal light builds high expectations and excitement of what's to come.
Arriving at the Gite was an extension of this experience. An old, converted barn, finished to an exceptionally high standard welcomed us with a cast iron wood burning stove lighting up the white walls and original wooden beams inside.
The fantastic hosts provided us with plenty of information allowing us to ponder the next days excursions over glasses of local Cahors wine. A perfect stay and a great base for daily excursions into the vineyards of the valley and surrounding historical villages.

It's rare to find a gite that matches its description perfectly. Gite Regrunel certainly does that and more. Immaculate gites, extremely well equipped, tastefully decorated with a well thought layout. Activities in the local area and further afield are plentiful with something for everybody. There is much to choose from; vineyards, cycling, river, towns, markets, restaurants. You can of course just relax in peace and tranquillity at the gite lazing by the sparkling clean pool! Dan, Elaine and the dogs Snoop and Bailey were welcoming and helpful and did everything to make our stay perfect.
Karen, Robin, Callum & Harvey - August 2016 (La Grange)
We all enjoyed a lovey weeks holiday in August 2016, most relaxing holiday in a long time. The gite was lovely and spacious, clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful holiday. Our children 9, 15 & 18 loved the games room and spent most of the time in the fabulous pool. All the facilities were great and Elaine & Dan were perfect hosts. They recommended lots of interesting places to visit and booked restaurants for us. The location was perfect with plenty of places to visit. We will certainly be returning and will recommend this property to family and friends.
Stuart, Tracey & Family - August 2016 (La Grange)
Thank you for the lovely stay, you really made my stay delightful. The pool was really clean and I really liked the inflatables. You are really nice people and your dogs are really cute, it was so funny when they jumped in the pool. The accommodation was really nice and thank you for letting us know about the crazy golf and the pedalos they were really nice and relaxing.
Freya (age 9) - August 2016 (La Grange)
What a fabulous place! The barn was comfortable, cool, spacious and stylish with everything we needed. We loved the open pool area and the peaceful location. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly. Bikes were available and a great games room for the children, complete with table tennis, darts and other games.

We enjoyed our holiday at Le Petite Grange immensely - a beautiful barn conversion which is exceptionally well appointed. The children loved the pool and games room and we enjoyed many days at the gite - we intended to travel around more than we did but actually the pull of La Petite Grange meant we spent some lazy days but the pool instead. The gite is modern, light, airy and cool on hot days. Sitting area is private outside but we were very fortunate the family next door were so lovely and our youngest son and their son became good friends, a perfect bonus! Hosts are friendly, so welcoming and always there to help without that ever feeling intrusive. Their dogs - Snoop and Bailey - are so lovely and so perfectly behaved, we fell in love with them! We were so fortunate to find this lovely gite - I can't recommend enough.

We originally visited La Petite Grange back in Sept 2014 and we were absolutely in love with the place, despite being work in progress on La Grange (3 bedroom gite) at the time. Which I might add, was still better equipped than some of the other places that had been trading for some time!! We've followed the progress of the La Grange over the net and knew the second it was completed that we would be returning again - How many of us have said you'd return to a holiday destination, but never do?
Dan and Elaine are very welcoming couple, very engaging and can can not do enough for you. Yet at the same time, leave you well alone to get on with your holiday. The new Gite was a joy to behold, it's a very clever thing to mix old with the new and yet still keep the original charm. Lovely oaked beams throughout. Again, the Gite is fully equipped with everything you need including TV, shower, bath, very comfy beds, fully functional kitchen (incl utensils), washing machine, laundry room - even has an iron! Everything is so clean. They have thought of everything, even a large folder full of local attractions - Dan & Elaine have embraced the fact they live in France, Dan is almost fluent in French and Elaine is also very good - as a result, even the locals have recommended their families stay with them. High praise indeed.
We had a great time, as it happened on the weekend we stayed, there was the Rallye de Bonaguil - awesome! We wanted to explore and had great meals at Hostellerie Le Vert Mauroux and Le Caillau - 2 lovely places that I can't recommend highly enough. If you like a cycling holiday, you'll love this - scenic, hills, no cars. It's a match made in heaven! If you fancy just chilling, the swimming pool, coupled with the games room is also a winner too. My wife and have become very fond of their dogs, Snoop and Bailey - they are just as friendly as Elaine and Dan!! We will be back, I would strongly suggest you book here too, you will not be disappointed!!
Philip & Gemma - September 2015 (La Grange)
Fantastic, can't wait to go back to the beautiful Gite in a stunning location - We spent a lovely week here in September. The Gite is beautifully appointed, with everything you could need and more. Super comfy beds, quiet location, but close to all amenities. The hosts Elaine and Dan could not be more accommodating, with lovely touches like a chilled bottle of fizz on our arrival. Games room for the kids and board games. Gorgeous scenery, spacious grounds with a great pool area, perfect for relaxing. Some fantastic restaurants very nearby, close to many vineyards. All in all an idyllic location. Can't wait to return. Xxx
Claire, Matt, Ella & Eden - September 2015 (La Grange)
We had a lovely week staying at Dan and Elaine's gite. This delightful couple have transformed an old run down farm complex into a wonderful place for relaxation and fun. Dan and Elaine, who are welcoming but not intrusive, have thought of practically everything that may be needed during a holiday stay at their converted barn. It was a lovely introduction to the Lot-et-Garonne area and it was very special to meet Dan, Elaine, Snoop and Bailey.
A great place to relax and enjoy! It's also near to many of the picturesque medieval bastides, for which the area is renowned.
Kevin & Maggie - September 2015 (La Petite Grange)
We stayed in the 3 bedroom gite which was incredibly spacious and beautifully appointed - all the character of rural France but with luxurious and comfortable accommodation. The pool was clean with comfy loungers and towels which was an added bonus. Dan and Elaine, and of course the dogs Snoop and Bailey, made us very welcome and were happy to recommend some great nearby restaurants. This was our first holiday in this particular region of France and we will certainly be back as there was so much more to explore.
Mike, Terry, Will & Maddie - August 2015 (La Grange)
We had a very relaxing week in this excellent gite. It had everything we needed and was immaculately presented. The pool was fabulous and we were made very welcome by the charming owners, Dan and Elaine. The gite has been completed to a very high standard and excellent use has been made of existing and modern materials.
Dougie & Maggie - July 2015 (La Petite Grange)
Our stay at this property was a first class experience. Lots of space indoor and outdoor, very comfortable with everything one could need. The pool was fabulous, being cleaned every day. Dan and Elaine, the owners were the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome with their two friendly dogs Bailey and Snoop. We would recommend this property to anyone thinking of renting a Gite.
Terry & Valda - July 2015 (La Grange)
We were warmly greeted by Elaine and Dan (and not forgetting the very adorable Snoop and Bailey) on arrival at the Gite. We quickly settled in to what was to become our home for the next week and never wanted for anything during our stay as Elaine and Dan had thoughtfully provided everything we needed. The Gite was immaculately presented and very comfortable and much more than we could have hoped for.
I enjoyed the fabulous routes for cycling while my wife stayed closer to home to run in the morning and in the afternoons we visited the beautiful towns and villages in the area of which Monflanquin and Sarlat were amongst our favourites. We also enjoyed spending time lazing by the fabulous pool.
We absolutely loved our time at La Petite Grange and have already booked again for next year.
Andy & Kirsty - July 2015 (La Petite Grange)
Elaine & Dan have absolutely nailed it here. Their Gite, an excellent mix of historic originality and a mix of contemporary matched by their unrivalled hospitality equates to something very special. They treat every guest in the same way they would like to be treated if they were a paying customer elsewhere - nothing is too much trouble (Not that you have to ask for much as they've literally thought of everything to make your stay a happy one). They have the most amazing dogs (Snoop & Bailey) that share the same passion / enthusiasm in life as Elaine & Dan! - They were great fun. The most friendly, well behaved dogs you'll ever meet!
The swimming pool, the view, the overall experience is one that I know we'll look forward to doing again!! The finish of the Gite internally was an amazing standard, you'd struggle to find better
My only complaint is that we didn't stay longer, the Caves / Towns / Chateau's locally are amazing too! I've said all I can here, my advice is just book your stay now!!
Philip & Gemma - Sept 2014 (La Petite Grange)
We have just spent two amazing weeks at the Gite Regrunel. On our arrival we had a lovely warm welcome from Dan and Elaine and they continued to be fabulous hosts for the whole of our stay. The gite was beautifully designed with modern style within lovely stone walls and wooden beams, and was fully equipped with everything you need. It was spotlessly clean and there was a welcome pack which was a lovely gesture. The beds were very comfortable with luxury cotton bedding.
The outside space was amazing with fabulous views and of course the fantastic pool which our son Harry loved. The decking area had lovely furniture for a relaxing time around the pool. Out and about we visited many towns for there markets and chateaus. There are many vineyards around. We visited Walibu theme park and parc en ciel which was tree top climbing both are a great family day out.
Our last mention is Snoop and Bailey two lovely dogs who made us laugh everyday. We will miss them.
We look forward to returning and will recommend the gite to our family and friends.
Julie, Chris & Harry - August 2014 (La Petite Grange)
Where do I start ... Gite Regrunel was superb. On arriving at the gite the owners Dan & Elaine were very welcoming. The accommodation was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, with everything you could ever need on a holiday. They had kindly left us with a welcome pack of bread, milk, butter etc.
We travelled with our two little girls who were also well catered for with a games room, dvd's suitable for families and board games to keep us all entertained in the evenings. The large pool is fantastic, with plenty of space to relax, dine or walk around the grounds.
We would definitely be keen to return to this property and would highly recommend it to others thinking of staying in the area.
Chris & Lindsey - July 2014 (La Petite Grange)
My family spent a fantastic week at Gite Regrunel
Accommodation: Superb - quiet, spacious, well-planned and tastefully decorated, in keeping with the location. The gite was very clean and we wanted for nothing. An excellent, well stocked kitchen and two shower rooms. The pool was very welcome - again very clean and sees the sun throughout the day, with good shade provided. On the odd rainy day, the games room came in very handy, and has a very good selection of equipment.
Owners: Very hospitable owners, Elaine and Dan, made us feel at home from the moment we made our booking. They were available on site throughout and gave some good recommendations for restaurants and local areas to visit.
Area: Picturesque and peaceful setting and lots to do in the area. We enjoyed the local chateau very much, and there are some lovely restaurants at the foot of the building.
Kathy & Nick - July 2014 (La Petite Grange)
Dan and Elaine are the perfect hosts and should be congratulated in creating a very comfortable and smart, modern gite within the beautiful golden stone barn. We were lucky to be the first guests to stay in their newly converted gite. Internally the finish and quality of the gite is of a high specification with comfortable beds, comfortable sofas, large well equipped kitchen and quality bathrooms. Dan and Elaine have thought of everything that you may need to enjoy your holiday. There are plenty of outside tables and chairs to use to relax as well as large gardens around the house. The large swimming pool has a fantastic decking area with lots of loungers, comfortable tables, chairs, parasols and everything that you need to have a relaxing break.
If you love dogs then Snoop and Bailey will be there to meet and greet you though if you are not so keen they are well trained and will keep out of your way if required. A games room is available if you feel energetic and there are lots of routes for running or walking nearby.
There is a large supermarket and fantastic bakers nearby with lots of restaurants to try each night of the week.
If you are looking for a quality 2 bedroom gite then you will not be disappointed by Dan and Elaine's conversion into a high specification holiday rental.

Xxx
